I recently took a trip to the Netherlands to visit one of my best friends who moved out there a couple of years ago. She’s an amazing photographer so it was a great excuse for 3 days (allowing one day off for pure shopping) of fun photography.
I was travelling with another of my best friends and despite both of us being chatterboxes, once we were above cloud level we found ourselves just staring out the window.
On day 1 we took a trip over to the Velowezoom National Park where we bravely faced off against the ferocious ponies and then rewarded ourselves with traditional dutch apple pie!
The afternoon was then spent investigating Doesburg. A lovely little town that reminded me a lot of Tetbury, Gloucestershire.
Day 1 was fantastic. I even became fluent in Dutch (kind of). Dank u wel! (yes, that’s about my limit).
Day 2 was our designated shopping day, so my proper camera stayed firmly at the house. But I couldn’t help getting a few phone snaps
I couldn’t believe the price of flowers at the local garden centre and there were so many gorgeous flowers. When we got back to the house we found Charlie’s chicks had hatched! One is going to be named Kemma-Kemma-Kazee. I have no idea why
We were also lucky enough to be introduced to the neighbours!
Day 3 was tulip day!! A trip to Keukenhoff to photograph all the stunning tulips. They obviously need a blog post all of their own…
